The change is to section 3.2, ‘Consent for the Collection of Sensitive Information’ to include consent to disclose sensitive information with AI technology providers and outlining how we use AI technology.

Our objective is to responsibly use AI as a tool to empower staff and enhance interactions and outcomes with participants.

We commit to using AI in a way that:

  • Amplifies our human-centric service model
  • Aligns with Skylights commitment to Lived Experience, Recovery and Trauma Informed Interventions
  • Maintains full compliance with relevant legislation (e.g. Privacy Act 1988)
  • Proactively aligns with national and international AI best practice
  • Emphasises transparency, accountability, and respect for participant autonomy

We may use AI Technologies:

  • to conduct analysis and processing
  • to improve and optimise our Services and operations,
  • to automate processes and communications,
  • for quality assurance purposes; and
  • to assist with customer support and queries.

If you would not like your sensitive data to be shared with AI Technology providers, you can let Skylight know and we will log this preference, and whenever it is possible for Skylight to individually exclude your data from being shared with AI Technology providers we will do so.

Whenever for any reason it is not possible for Skylight to individually exclude your data, then continuing to access services from Skylight is done so with consent to share sensitive information with AI Technology providers in those contexts. You can communicate this preference by calling Skylights Customer Relations Team at (08) 8378 4100.

If you have any questions about this change please feel free to get in touch.
