The Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group is proud to share details of a meaningful moment from Skylight’s recent AGM, which also marked our 40th anniversary and the move to our new offices in Mile End.
To honour this milestone, we invited Petiola Wilson, a descendant of the Ngarrindjeri and Kaurna Nations, to lead a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, with the support of his daughter. The smoking ceremony, a sacred cultural practice, was conducted to cleanse the space, promote healing, and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land.
This ceremony was a significant reminder of the importance of cultural respect and our ongoing commitment to reconciliation. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Petiola and his daughter for their generosity in sharing this tradition with us.
