Supporting South Australians Through Drought and Its Lasting Impacts

How We’re Supporting Drought-Affected Communities:

Drought does not just affect the land. It takes a toll on people, families, and whole communities. Stress, uncertainty, financial pressure, and isolation can build up over time, and the effects often last long after the drought has eased.

Through the Drought Mental Health Support Program, Skylight Mental Health provides free one-on-one and group support for people living in drought-affected regions of South Australia. We focus on practical strategies for coping with stress, staying connected, and supporting wellbeing, both now and in the seasons ahead.

Our support is available in person, over the phone, or online, so that people can connect with help in a way that works for them. Whether you are looking for a private conversation, a group session, or simple tools to manage day-to-day challenges, we are here to walk alongside you.

Collaboration for Community Recovery

A Statewide Initiative Supporting Drought-Affected Communities

The South Australian Drought Mental Health Support Program is delivered by several organisations so that people across drought-affected regions can access mental health and wellbeing support.

Skylight Mental Health delivers this program in the Riverland, Murray Lands and Coorong regions.

This program is funded by the Government of South Australia through the Department for Health and Wellbeing, enabling free mental health support for individuals, families and communities affected by drought.
