Family & Carer Connection.

Our Short Breaks programs give you or your carer the opportunity to step away from your day-to-day life, relax and refresh, learn new skills, focus on your well-being and socialise.

We focus these breaks around your recovery. We can accommodate up to 4 people, with one or more Skylight staff member.

The primary residence is a spacious family-style home, with a large living room, dining room and kitchen, private bedrooms and shared facilities.

Skylight’s Short Breaks can be funded privately or through your NDIS package (please consider your short-term accommodation needs in your NDIS plan).

Our Carer Support Programs are to assist people who are supporting a friend or loved one with mental illness.  We offer a number of short courses for carers and family members, as well as for the person themselves who is living with a mental illness.

Courses are led by facilitators with lived experience and include topics such as:

Drugs, Alcohol and Mental Illness Program, Partner Program, Family and Carer Program and Journey to Recovery Program.

These programs provide practical insights and helpful interventions to assist participants to increase their confidence and knowledge to negotiate the challenges created by mental illness.
