Our Carer Support Programs are to assist people who are supporting a friend or loved one with mental illness. We offer a number of support options for carers and family members, as well as for the person themselves who is living with a mental illness.

These groups will assist people to:
Carer Counselling
Carers provide valuable support and care to their family members and loved ones. Skylight Mental Health understands that being a carer can be challenging at times.
We offer short-term counselling services for carers who are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, stress, depression, grief and loss as a result of their caring role.

Support Groups
Skylight provides support groups for people with a mental illness, their carers, relatives and friends. These groups assist people to better understand and to cope with the medical, social and economic problems created by mental illness and have a strong educational and peer support component and are very important in assisting people through the recovery journey.
Sanctuary Support Group
For carers of people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), to increase awareness of BPD, recognise challenges, and share with others experiencing similar journeys. Advice about ways of engaging with loved ones as well as sources of information and treatment are also on the agenda.
When: Second Tuesday of each month, 4pm – 6pm
